Engine Timing Station

Thursday, March 01, 2007

This engine testing machine is responsible for timing a modular engine on the production line. The operator uses the handlebars to "drive" the apparatus to an engine block that shuttles into place. The end effector on the timing mechanism engages the engine block and establishes the timing relationship between the cam and crank. The machine automatically engages and rotates the cam and crank and has a brake and nut driver to tighen the drive gears in position when timed.
