This testing machine tests six diesel engine decompression brakes for durability. Each brake is loaded in a fashion to simulate engine compression and decompression. While operating the brakes, motion is verified. Motor oil pressure is controlled using servo valves and fluid is conditioned to high temperatures for simulating extreme engine conditions. Machine is equipped with fire supression for laboratory safety.
The brake is loaded with a specially designed MCM fixture that loads and unloads the valve in a similar fashion as would the piston in the engine cylinder during operation. The design uses spool valve technology to acomplish this.
